What is a CSA?
The Goshen Farmers Market CSA program is designed for people who enjoy fresh, local produce from regional farmers throughout the growing season. It is a unique partnership between producers and consumers.

    •     Producers enjoy a guaranteed market, making their farms more economically viable.
    •     CSA members enjoy a guaranteed supply of fresh, healthy foods from local farms.
    •     Together, CSA members and local farmers help to build a sustainable community.

How do I participate in the Farmers Market CSA?
Purchase your CSA membership at the Goshen Farmers Market. The market accepts cash and checks. By joining, you will become a vital part of a growing community of Elkhart County residents who enjoy fresh, healthy local food all season long.  For your membership, you will receive:
    •     A woven shopping basket
    •     A membership card
    •     Your choice of the best of regionally- produced fruits, vegetables and cut herbs
    •     A chance to support local agriculture while making nutritious and economical choices for your family

How much does my CSA share cost?
Full Share (22 baskets):  $400
Half Share (10 baskets):  $200

You may also choose to support our low-income basket program by donating $25 at the time of your CSA purchase.  Your donation will be designated to provide healthy food baskets for low-income households in our community.

Our CSA program is unique from other CSA programs.  Most CSA programs around the country have a single farm supplier package a bag or box with their weekly choice of produce.  Only at the Mill Race Farmer's Market can you shop at multiple farm stands and fill your basket with your choice of produce.

Why should I purchase a share in the Goshen Farmers Market CSA?

To build sustainable food systems, both producers and consumers need to have more control over all aspects of food production. CSA provides that control by:

    •     Direct marketing that allows local farmers to earn retail prices.

    •     Contact between farmers and their customers that provides more control over where and how food is grown and how much it costs.

    •     Supporting small growers to help keep farmland in production and protect it from development and depletion.
